Graeme Broom at Banbury Rugby club

Jamie and Julie Briggs were delighted to host Graeme Broom on Saturday at Banbury Rugby club to blow the whistle to start the game between Banbury and Chippenham. Graeme, who lives with Asperger’s syndrome, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) last year and recently took the ‘take up the whistle’ refereeing course with the London Society of RFU Referees. He has wanted to be a referee since the age of 16, but only recently had the confidence to follow his dream. His ultimate goal is to referee a game in some way, shape or form.

Having lost Julie's father to MND 7 years ago, it is a charity that is very dear to her heart so she would love to be able to link Graeme’s dream of refereeing a game with raising money for further research into this horrendous disease. Anyone know Wayne Barnes!?
